Philadelphia Union Wear Names of Victims Killed By Police Violence

On Thursday the Philadelphia Union replaced players' last names with Black victims of police brutality.

Before playing NYCFC, the club took a team picture before taking off the warm-up shirts to reveal their respective jerseys honoring the victims. MLS started a league-wide demonstration of wearing white strips below their jersey numbers with messages of their choosing. Names such as Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, Philando Castile, Freddie Gray, Anton Sterling have been displayed.

The MLS is Back Tournament is scheduled to run through Aug 11th.
