American Pharoah’s owner, Ahmed Zayat, said on Sunday plans are under way for the Triple Crown winner to race again this year.

The next race for American Pharoah is unclear, although Zayat said he wants fans “to still enjoy something” and will let trainer Bob Baffert determine the horse’s schedule.

The Associated Press suggests possible next races are the Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, N.J., on Aug. 2; the Jim Dandy at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., on Aug. 29; or a race at Del Mar in California in August.

American Pharoah won the 147th Belmont Stakes on Saturday, essentially leading wire to wire to become the 12th Triple Crown winner and the first in 37 years.

Jockey Victor Espinoza rode the horse to victory following wins at the Kentucky Derby and Preakness. He told the AP after the race Saturday that he never doubted American Pharoah.

“Warming up he was just class,” he said.

“He walked into the game, amazing. He was ready today.”
