Josh Hamilton asks for second consecutive day off

Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton is not in the lineup Monday for the second consecutive day.  Hamilton asked to be taken out of the lineup Sunday, saying he felt like he was "spinning my wheels," according to ESPN.com. Hamilton's request came a day after Angels manager Mike Scioscia said he thought Hamilton was "not the same" as he was when he played with the Rangers.

Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton is not in the lineup Monday for the second consecutive day. 

According to ESPN.com, Hamilton asked for the day off. 

Hamilton asked to be taken out of the lineup Sunday as well, saying he felt like he was "spinning my wheels," according to ESPN.com.

Hamilton's request came a day after Angels manager Mike Scioscia said he thought Hamilton was "not the same" as he was when he played with the Rangers.

The Angels are in Boston for a four-game series against the Red Sox.

Hamilton signed a five-year, $133 million contract with Anaheim in 2013.

In 72 games this season, Hamilton is batting .266/.399/.414. He is hitting .132 over the past two weeks.
