San Francisco Giants pitcher Mike Leake has been scratched from his scheduled Friday start after an MRI showed a mild left hamstring strain, the team announced Thursday.

Ryan Vogelsong will pitch in Leake's place against the Chicago Cubs

Giants manager Bruce Bochy told reporters he hopes Leake only has to miss one start, adding that the pitcher thought the injury was cramps at first.

San Francisco acquired Leake in a trade with the Cincinnati Reds on July 30. He has made one start with the Giants so far, giving up two earned runs over 6 1/3 innings in a loss to the Texas Rangers.

On the season, Leake is 9–6 with a 3.52 ERA and 1.168 WHIP in 143 innings.
