Cubs starter Jon Lester found himself in quite the pickle in the second inning of Wednesday’s game against the Pirates.

He fielded a comebacker from Francisco Cervelli, but the ball became stuck in his glove. With no time to waste, he just threw the entire glove to first baseman Anthony Rizzo, who let go of his glove, to record the final out of the inning.

Lester also had to do this last April.

The Cubs got out to a four-run lead through five innings, just about as easily as Lester guided his mitt to Rizzo.
