Free agent guard Ray Allen is expected to reveal whether he will return to the NBA or retire over the next week, according to Fox Sports Ohio's Sam Amico.

Allen, 38, averaged 9.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists and shot 37.5 percent from three-point range in 73 games in 2013-14 for the Heat, with whom he has played the last two seasons.

The 18-year veteran has reportedly spoken with the Houston Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Allen is believed to desire playing with former Miami teammate LeBron James, who last week announced on that he would join the Cavaliers.
