Report: Mavericks, Jameer Nelson finalizing two-year deal
The Dallas Mavericks are finalizing a two-year, $6 million deal for free agent point guard Jameer Nelson, reports ESPN.com's Marc Stein. Nelson was scheduled to visit with the team Thursday.
The Dallas backcourt has experienced a lot of turnover this offseason already, as point guard Jose Calderon and former first-round pick Shane Larkin were traded to the New York Knicks in a deal that returned center Tyson Chandler and guard Raymond Felton. The Mavericks still have guard Monta Ellis under contract, and re-signed point guard Devin Harris to a four-year deal worth $16.5 million.

Nelson has spent his entire 10-year pro career with the Orlando Magic. Last season, the 32-year-old averaged 12.1 points and 7.0 assists per game, though he shot just 39.4 percent, near his career low.
