Thanasis Antetokounmpo, the Knicks' second round pick in this year's draft, has decided to play for the team's National Basketball Development League affiliate rather than head to Europe, according to a tweet Wednesday night from Chams Charania of RealGM.com.
The native-Nigerian was selected 51st overall in June's draft and will play for the Knicks' team in Westchester. The 22-year-old is the younger brother of Giannis Antetokounmpo, who plays for the Bucks.
Last season in the NBDL, Thanasis averaged 12 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.3 blocks per game.
After deciding on D-League's Westchester or Europe, Thanasis Antetokounmpo has agreed on Knicks' affiliate next season, sources tell RealGM. — Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) August 21, 2014
