Granger, 31, was signed by the Heat in July. Team president Pat Riley said Miami was looking for a "proven veteran" with "All-Star experience."
Granger has averaged 17.4 points and 5.1 rebounds in 32.1 minutes per game in 556 career games. In his time in the league he has also averaged 43.5 percent shooting from the field and 84.9 percent from the foul line.
Granger joins a Heat team that finished last season 54-28 before losing to the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals.
