San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard will undergo an MRI on his injured right hand Thursday, reports the San Antonio Express-News.

Leonard did have X-rays on the hand Wednesday and he did not play in San Antonio's 109-95 victory over the New York Knicks.

Leonard, last season's Finals MVP, was injured in Tuesday night's loss against the Utah Jazz.

The forward is averaging 14.8 points and 7.5 rebounds in 20 games this season for San Antonio (16-6), which has won eight of its past 10 games. He is set to become a restricted free agent next summer after failing to reach a deal on a contract extension before the Oct. 31 deadline.
