The Boston Celtics are showing "renewed willingness" to trade point guard Rajon Rondo and are in "serious discussions," though no trade is imminent, reports Adrian Wojnarowski and Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports.

According to Yahoo, rival teams have been given strong impressions that the Celtics are prepared to include Rondo in a trade.

The 28-year-old is in the final year of his contract and has been linked to trade rumors ever since the Celtics selected point guard Marcus Smart with their first-round pick in this year's draft.

Last month, team president Danny Ainge was reportedly telling other teams that Boston would not be trading Rondo.

From Yahoo's report:

Boston's asking price for Rondo remains "pretty high, probably higher than most want to pay," one league official told Yahoo.

Trade talks with Rondo have been focused more in the Western Conference than Eastern, sources said.

After a torn ACL limited him to just 68 games over the past two seasons, Rondo is averaging 8.0 points, 10.6 assists and 7.5 rebounds per game in 2014. He has spent his entire nine-year career in Boston.

The Celtics have also been shopping forward Jeff Green, according to Yahoo, looking to get a package that includes a first-round draft pick. Green is averaging 19.7 points and 4.5 rebounds this season.

Boston (8-14) hosts the Orlando Magic (10-17) on Wednesday.
