Alvin Gentry would welcome another chance to be NBA head coach

Golden State Warriors assistant coach Alvin Gentry wants another chance to become an NBA head coach. Gentry was previously the head coach of the Heat, Pistons, Clippers and Suns.

Golden State Warriors assistant coach Alvin Gentry has aspirations to once again become an NBA coach, InsideBayArea.com reports.

Gentry has previously held head coaching positions with the Heat, Pistons, Clippers and Suns. In 12 seasons, he compiled a 335-370 record.

“If there's a good situation, yeah, I would like to be a head coach again," Gentry said. "But it would have to be a situation that would have to be very good."

Golden State head coach Steve Kerr said Gentry is worthy of another chance to be a head coach.

"If he gets a head coaching job, I'll be thrilled for him and his family, and he deserves it," Kerr said.

Golden State is currently 51-12 and has the best record in the NBA.
