Wizards guard John Wall says broken hand won't need surgery
Washington Wizards point guard John Wall says he doesn’t need surgery for left hand fractures that caused him to miss three games in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, according to CSN Washington.
Wall said he will travel to Cleveland to see a hand specialist.
He was injured the second quarter of Washington’s Game 1 victory over the Atlanta Hawks, suffering five non-displaced fractures in his left hand and wrist. He sat out the next three games before returning for Games 5 and 6.
After taking a 2-1 series lead, Atlanta won the next three contests to close the Wizards out in six games.
“But I'm still just doing a normal treatment routine (that) I was doing, like I was playing. Just consists of a lot of treatment and trying to keep the swelling down and letting the bone heal on its own,” Wall said, according to CSN Washington.

Wall said his wrist was “very sore” but that he did not suffer any more damage in his return.
He averaged 17.5 points, 10 assists, five rebounds and three steals playing with the injury and insists that Washington would have won the series if he didn’t get hurt.
"You take away Al Horford or Jeff Teague from their team for three games I think the series would be totally different," he said. "I'm a big key to this team. If we didn't have injuries, we would've been past this round."
