Kicks and Colors spotlights the variety of colorways—and the stories that go with—that brands’ unveil in key basketball sneakers.
Story: Adidas has started shifting colors with the new "Iridescent" pack for the D Rose 6 and D Lillard 1. Using an all-black mesh upper, each sneaker has a color-shifting finish when hit with flashes of light. Adidas claims the shoe “mimics the reflective and iridescent nature of a predator’s eyes in attack mode.” While fancy talk for color-shifting, the Rose model has six reflective lines on the straps of the heel cage, a rainbow reflective Rose logo and more accents. The Lillard sneaker has colors at the base of the lace system and heel tab. To tie to that nocturnal predator idea, the sockliners feature a falcon graphic for Rose and a cheetah for Lillard.
