Warriors’ Harrison Barnes out at least three games with sprained left ankle
Barnes will be re–evaluated in one week after X–rays didn’t show any broken bones. The fourth–year forward will miss the beginning of Golden State’s seven–game road trip starting with a matchup against the Utah Jazz on Monday. He will also miss Wednesday at the Charlotte Hornets and Saturday at the Toronto Raptors
He left Friday night’s 135–116 victory against the Phoenix Suns in the third quarter after trying to block a shot by Markieff Morris. He was unable to put any weight on his leg as trainers assisted him into the locker room for further evaluation. X–rays on Barnes’s left ankle were negative.
Barnes is averaging 13.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 16 starts for the Warriors. He finished with seven points, seven rebounds and two steals in 21 minutes on Friday for the then-17-0 Warriors. Golden State improved to 18–0 after a 120–101 win against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday.
