Kicks and Colors: Harden colorways meant to tie to Rockets’ uniforms

The Rockets' James Harden has a new player edition of Adidas' Crazylight Boost 2.5.

Kicks and Colors spotlights the variety of colorways—and the stories that go with—that brands’ unveil in key basketball sneakers.

Brand: Adidas

Sneaker: Crazylight Boost 2.5

Signature athlete: N/A (these designs are considered “player editions”)

Colorway: Home and Away

Story: James Harden remains the highest paid NBA sneaker endorser without a signature shoe (yet). So while Adidas crafts what will become the Houston star’s first signature, he continues to play in the Crazylight Boost 2.5. Adidas announced two new player edition colorways designed for Harden, with the Home in black and white with an outsole and heel tab in red, all meant to match the Rockets’ home uniform. The Away silhouette has a black to red gradient and extra black and chrome accents and a red outsole. Both versions have Harden’s custom “13” that somewhat resembles an “H” on the tongue.
