Semifinalists for 2015 Pro Football Hall of Fame unveiled

Kurt Warner, Junior Seau, Terrell Davis, and coaches Tony Dungy and Jimmy Johnson were among 26 modern-era candidates nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2015.

Others that were nominated in their first year include wide receivers Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt, offensive linemen Orlando Pace and Kevin Mawae, running back Edgerrin James, cornerback Ty Law, kicker Jason Elam, along with Warner and Seau.

Former Minnesota Vikings center Mick Tingelhoff was selected by the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Senior Selection Committee in August.

Ninety-nine players and 14 coaches were nominated for next year's class. To be eligible for the Hall of Fame, a modern-era player or coach must be retired for at least five consecutive seasons.

The list will be cut down to 15 finalists in January. The new class will have between four and eight members, and will be announced the day before the Super Bowl, which takes place Feb. 1 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.

The modern-era semifinalists nominated are as follows (in alphabetical order):
