The New York Giants will honor the late Frank Gifford and Ann Mara on their uniforms this season, team president and CEO John Mara told WFAN on Monday.

Gifford, a running back, receiver and defensive back the Giants from 1952 to 1964 who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977, died on Aug. 9 at age 84. John Mara said the Giants will honor Gifford with his No. 16 on their helmets this season.

Ann Mara, the widow of iconic Giants co-owner Wellington Mara, died on Feb. 1 at age 85. Long considered the matriarch of the Giants organization, Mara owned 50 percent of the Giants along with her 11 children. John Mara, the eldest son of Ann and Wellington, said the team would honor her with a jersey patch this season.
