Baltimore Ravens cornerback Tray Walker is dead at the age of 23 after a motorcycle crash Thursday night left him with fatal head injuries, his agent confirmed to reporters.

Walker was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami after the crash, where he remained in critical care overnight and died Friday after having surgery.

Walker was a fourth-round pick in last year’s draft out of Texas Southern, and played mostly on special teams last season.

Police told ESPN that Walker collided with a car at an intersection shortly before 8 p.m. Walker was wearing dark clothing and the motorcycle did not have lights, police said.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh wrote a letter to his players on Friday after learning of Walker’s accident.
