Manziel’s lawyer ‘accidentally’ sends text to Associated Press

Johnny Manziel’s lawyer, Bob Hinton, confirmed that his client is seeking a plea deal in his domestic violence case, and voiced concerns that Manziel can’t stay out of trouble, in a text to the Associated Press that the outlet called “accidental.”
The AP says that a reporter reached out to Hinton to get comment about a hit-and-run that Manziel was involved in on Monday, and that Hinton responded by saying he was in possession of a receipt that “purports to show Manziel spent more than $1,000 at a drug paraphernalia shop 15 hours after the crash.”
“Heaven help us if one of the conditions is to pee in a bottle,” Hinton wrote in the message.
The lawyer added that it is not known if the receipt from the paraphernalia store is legitimate.
Manziel, who is currently a free agent, has reportedly been preparing to play football again in 2016 after being released by the Browns in March.
Since his release, he has been charged with misdemeanor assault in an incident involving his ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley.
Manziel’s hearing for the incident was scheduled for Friday.
