IK Enemkpali throws punch at teammate on one-year anniversary of Geno incident
Bills linebacker IK Enemkpali threw a punch at a teammate during Bills practice Thursday night—exactly one year after he did the same to Jets quarterback Geno Smith.
Enemkpali took a swing at offensive lineman Cyrus Kouandijo on Thursday, according to multiple reports. The dustup appeared to be of the typical training-camp variety, unlike when Enemkpali reportedly punched Smith over a money dispute.
Enemkpali’s punch on Smith had a serious ripple effect. The linebacker was released and joined former Jets coach Rex Ryan on the Bills.

Meanwhile, Smith sustained a broken jaw from the punch, resulting in his losing his starting job to Ryan Fitzpatrick, who went on to have one of the best statistical seasons for a quarterback in Jets history.
Fitzpatrick re-signed with the Jets earlier this summer after a lengthy contract dispute and is expected to start again this season.
