Bill Belichick to Interview With Falcons for Second Time, per Report

Former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick will meet with the Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank this weekend for a second meeting to discuss the franchise’s vacant head coaching position, according to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The Falcons have met with several coaching candidates thus far, but Belichick appears to be the primary focus of Atlanta’s search. Blank and Belichick’s second meeting will be a one-on-one interview, per Rapoport, as the duo will likely discuss what a potential partnership would look like.

Reports circulated earlier this week that Belichick was looking for a talented roster that had yet to reach its potential, and the Falcons would certainly fit that description. Atlanta has plenty of skill position talent on both sides of the football, but has yet to find a franchise quarterback since Matt Ryan’s departure a couple of seasons ago.

Bill Belichick, the now-former New England Patriots coach, is in discussion with the Atlanta Falcons about their head coaching vacancy.

The quarterback position must be a priority for Atlanta regardless of whether or not Belichick is ultimately hired. Notably, a key reason for Belichick’s parting of ways with New England was the failure of the franchise to find an adequate replacement for Tom Brady when he left in free agency.

There’s more left to unfold, but things appear to be heating up with Belichick and the Falcons.
