Real Madrid and Villarreal will meet Wednesday at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid.

Real Madrid is coming off a 2–0 victory over Espanyol, the club's 16th consecutive win in La Liga play. Los Blancos earned the victory despite the absences of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, who both sat out due to injury. 

Real Madrid is on top of La Liga with 12 points after four matches. They're trailed by Barcelona and Las Palmas, both of which have nine points after four games. 

Villarreal has eight points so far this season. The team beat Real Sociedad 2–1 on Sunday.
