The NYPD has released video of the incident in which former tennis star James Blake was forcibly thrown to the ground and handcuffed in front of a New York hotel on Wednesday.
Blake suffered minor injuries during the arrest, which occurred as he was waiting to catch a ride to the U.S. Open. In total, five officers were involved in the incident, which they claim was due to a case on misidentification.
Officer James Frascatore, seen tackling Blake in the video, has been placed on administrative duties and his gun and badge have been removed.
Blake also issued a statement about his arrest on Friday.
During his playing career, Blake was among the best active American tennis players, rising as high as No. 4 in the ATP rankings.
