Chris Christie spent $82,594 on MetLife concessions over two years
New Jersey governor Chris Christie, whose NFL fandom is well documented, is no stranger to the stadium in his home state, MetLife.
While he might be a Dallas Cowboys fan, Christie has attended many games at the home of the Giants and Jets, and those visits have carried major costs for the state.
A New Jersey Watchdog analysis of records released by the governor's office found that in 2010 and 2011, Christie paid a combined $82,594 of state allowance to Delaware North Sportservice, which operates the stadium concessions at MetLife.
The vast majority of these expenses came during NFL season, though there are a few on the expense ledger that occurred in June and July. MetLife Stadium hosts a few concerts every year, typically during the summer.

As pointed out by Watchdog.org, Christie traditionally can use the luxury boxes at MetLife for free but has to pay extra for food and beverages.
When asked to comment, Christie’s press secretary told Watchdog.org in a prepared statement, "The official nature and business purpose of the event remains the case regardless of whether the event is at the State House, Drumthwacket or a sporting venue."
