Recent History Favors New Orleans Over Atlanta

Facing each other twice a year, dating back to 1970, Atlanta holds a slight 52-48 all-time edge in this series. New Orleans won and covered both contests last year, 42-37 OT on the road as -1.5 chalk in Atlanta in Week 3 and 31-17 at home at -12.5 during Week 12. The under has cashed in three of the last four meetings.

Saints vs. Falcons Final Thoughts and Pick

Bookmakers have posted New Orleans as huge favorites and rightfully so. The Saints are solid on both sides of the ball and may get star RB Alvin Kamara back for this contest. If Kamara doesn’t return, backup RB Latavius Murray has subbed in and played well while Kamara has been out.

A slight concern here is a backdoor cover, as the Falcons have scored a ton of points in garbage time. Atlanta has posted 80 of its 165 points in the fourth quarter. The Saints have allowed zero points in the final frame three times this season. Lay the 12.5-point spread and back New Orleans to cover.

Pick: Saints -12.5

Season record: 0-0
