Mahomes on Top for NFL MVP Odds in 2020

The NFL season is a few months away but we have the odds for 2020 MVP. Is eSports the answer for sportsbooks during the coronavirus? Plus NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell slams the league’s General Manager Subcommittee.
Here are three things to know for Friday, March 27th from the world of sports gambling.
Number 1: Mahomes On Top in MVP Odds
No surprise to see Patrick Mahomes as the favorite with 9-to-2 odds. Lamar Jackson is next at 7-to-1, and Russell Wilson rounds out the top three with 10-to-1. The Buccaneers' new franchise quarterback Tom Brady is the only other player under 20-to-1 odds. Betting on the 42-year-old passer yields 18-to-1 odds.
Christian McCaffrey, Derrick Henry, and Saquon Barkley are the only non-quarterbacks with odds under 50-to-1. The Panthers, Titans, and Giants rushers all come in at 30-to-1 odds.
Number Two: Roger Goodell Threatens NFL General Managers
Commission Roger Goodell seems hell-bent on making sure the draft takes place as planned on April 23rd despite the shutdown in Las Vegas due to the coronavirus and plea from the General Managers subcommittee. Goodell sent out a league-wide memo stating, "public discussion of issues relating to the draft serves no useful purpose and is grounds for disciplinary action.”
In other words, teams and GMs better shut up and stop blasting him in public, or else they'll get sent to the principal's office for detention.
Number Three: Nevada Approves Gambling on eSports Tournament
With casinos shutting down shop for the time being in Las Vegas, sportsbooks are looking for any sports to spruce up action. The State of Nevada has legalized gambling on the eSports tournament Counter-Strike Global Offensive ESL Pro League Season 11. Right now, only Nevada and New Jersey have officially legalized gambling on eSports events, but any sportsbook in those states wishing to take action on must get approval for each individual eSports tournament. There are three types of wagers approved in Nevada for the Counter-Strike event: head-to-head, winner of each match, and overall season winner.
Stay safe! Wash your hands and enjoy your weekend.
