Can Belichick win Coach of the Year Without Brady at QB?

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is the co-favorite along with Cowboys new coach Mike McCarthy for 2020 NFL Coach of the Year.

Fanduel Sportsbook released the odds for 2020 NFL Coach of the Year and there's somewhat of a surprise favorite. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is the co-favorite along with Cowboys new coach Mike McCarthy.

The intriguing aspect when it comes to Belichick is the fact New England won 12 games in 2019. Typically the award is given to a coach of a team that shows drastic improvement from one year to the next. It's hard to imagine the Patriots having a better year in 2020 compared to their performance last season especially without Tom Brady under center for the first time in nearly two decades. Then again perhaps that's the exact reason the oddsmakers think Belichick will in fact end up winning the award. If Belichick can coach his team to a double-digit win season regardless of who plays quarterback, it will certainly be a strong testament to his ability.
