UCLA's Pauley Pavilion basketball court to be replaced after flood
The court where Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Bill Walton played their college ball — inside UCLA's Pauley Pavilion — will be replaced because of damage caused by 20 million gallons of water that flooded the court earlier this week, athletics director Dan Guerrero announced on Friday.
A nearby water main break caused the flood, which dumped 10 inches of water onto the court.

The floor will be replaced by the end of October, Guerrero said, so no regular-season basketball games are expected to be affected.
The 13,800-seat Pauley Pavilion underwent a $136 million upgrade in 2012, and Guerrero said the current floor cost $500,000, according to an ESPN report.
Wrote Guerrero in a statement: "In my message to you on Tuesday, I noted two of Coach Wooden’s quotes applicable to our challenge. Today, I provide you with another well-known quote: 'Be quick, but don’t hurry.'"
