Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi signs contract extension through 2021
Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him in Pittsburgh until 2021, the school announced Thursday.
The financial terms of the contract have not been disclosed, but the deal adds to the five-year contract Narduzzi signed last year when he was originally hired.
In his first season as Pitt’s coach, the team finished second in the ACC Coastal Division with an 8–4 record, the program’s best record since finishing 10–3 in 2009. The Panthers will play their final game of the season against Navy in the Military Bowl on Dec. 28.

“The University of Pittsburgh is an incredible place with incredible people,” Narduzzi said in a statement. “My family and I plan to make Pittsburgh our home for a very long time and we’re glad the leadership at Pitt feels the same way. It is an honor to serve as Pitt’s head football coach and I’m continuously energized by what we can, and will, accomplish here.”
