Report: Two More AAC Bowl Games Canceled

The conference has now had three of a possible seven bowl games called off due to COVID-19 issues.

CINCINNATI — The AAC is losing bowl games left and right due to COVID-19 issues. The Action Network's Brett McMurphy reports Wednesday's Fenway Bowl between Virginia and SMU is canceled. While 247Sports's Stephen Igoe reports that officials canceled Tuesday's Military Bowl between East Carolina and Boston College.

That brings the AAC's canceled bowl tally to three out of a possible seven games. The conference is 2-0 in played bowl games thus far but has not had a chance to add to it since this weekend's Hawaii Bowl was also canceled.

Due to all of the issues being on opposing rosters, the AAC is now 5-0 in bowls this season, with three wins by forfeit.

The College Football Playoff unveiled heightened COVID restrictions for the upcoming games on New Year's Eve. Bearcats players will start trickling back into Clifton following a quick holiday break. The coaching staff and UC fans everywhere are hoping the team can get through this week healthy and play Alabama at full strength.
