Wise quarterback Jayden Sauray

Offers: Boston College, Buffalo, Marshall, Maryland, Old Dominion, Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, West Virginia

Skinny: the Terps were the first to ante up for the New York native. The pocket-passer has athleticism to evade the rush but does his damage in the pocket as he went undefeated and added a 4A state championship in his first season as the starter. Virginia Tech became the latest school to offer this week but the quarterback chase in the 2022 class starts with the 6-foot, 200-pound quarterback. Update on Sauray

McDonogh quarterback Preston Howard

Offers: Arizona State, Auburn, Boston College, Howard, Liberty, Maryland, UMass, Michigan, Morgan State, Penn State, Syracuse, Toledo, Virginia Tech, West Virginia

Skinny: the dual-threat quarterback added an offer early in his recruitment from the in-state school as the soft-spoken prospect shined a season ago. Howard and 2021 commit Dante Trader developed good rhythm in 2019 as Penn State linebacker Curtis Jacobs gave him another strong option, but Howard has established himself as a household name locally. Talented quarterback that can make plays with his quickness or strong arm as a 6-foot-6, 215-pound prospect.

DeMatha running back Kevin Winston

Offers: Boston College, UMass, Maryland, Michigan State, Penn State, Pitt, South Carolina, Syracuse, Tennessee, Virginia Tech

Skinny: the Terps were the first school to offer Winston as he becomes the next running back in the Stags offense alongside Sieh Bangura. The Gamecocks area another familiar name with former teammate Marshawn Lloyd in Columbia while Penn State has already built relationships, but the local priority is more than aware of the hometown school as Maryland hopes to keep the 5-foot-11, 160-pound speedster in-state. Update from Winston

Northwest wide receiver Peter Kikwata

Offers: Arkansas, Auburn, Boston College, Buffalo, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Duke, East Carolina, Florida International, Florida State, Kentucky, Liberty, Maryland, Miami, Old Dominion, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Tennessee, Toledo, Virginia, Virginia Tech, West Virginia

Skinny: the fast-rising junior transferred from Watkins Mill to Northwest over the offseason and became one of the hottest names in the class shortly thereafter. Kikwata added his first thirteen verbal offers within a four-day span as Maryland and Penn State were the first two to pull the trigger. He and West Virginia verbal Kaden Prather give Northwest plenty of firepower going into the spring season. Update from Kikwata

St. Frances offensive tackle Andre Roye

Offers: Arizona State, Baylor, Boston College, Buffalo, Maryland, UMass, Michigan, Morgan State, Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, Tennessee, Toledo

Skinny: the towering lineman has added steady size to his long frame and could attract even more looks once coaches are able to hit the road. Roye credited his early relationship with Pitt offensive line coach Andre Powell, but he’ll be a steady piece in the trenches when St. Frances does suit up. The Terps will hope to add their second offensive lineman out of the Baltimore powerhouse alongside freshman Ja’Khi Green. Update from Roye

Calvert Hall defensive end Daniel Owens

Offers: Boston College, FIU, Maryland, Michigan, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, South Carolina, Syracuse, Wake Forest

Skinny: the 6-foot-3, 220-pound defensive end has been able to check out both Maryland and Syracuse in the early stages of his recruitment, but Owens is focused on the gridiron and building to his frame. He will look to take advantage of a leadership role under a new coaching staff as Josh Ward has taken over the program this offseason. Update from Owens

St. Frances defensive end Aaron Wilson

Offers: Arkansas, Boston College, Florida, Florida State, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, South Carolina, Tennessee, UCF, USF, West Virginia

Skinny: the Florida native has an extensive offer sheet already, but Wilson is familiar with several of his suitors due to trips heading into his sophomore season. Wilson told All Terrapins he made game visits to both Maryland and Rutgers as the Terps hope to chip away and familiarize themselves once visits resume. Brandon Wilson, Aaron’s older brother, played as a grad transfer at UCF to give him a connection to the local suitor. Battle of the national elites for the impact pass-rusher. Update from Wilson

McDonogh defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton

Offers: Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Boston College, Duke, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Howard, Liberty, Maryland, UMass, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Toledo, Virginia, Virginia Tech, West Virginia

Skinny: it was Florida who was first to offer Dani, but the Terps played host to he and his teammates last fall for the Penn State game following their Friday night victory. Dennis-Sutton has made trips to Penn State, as well, and is close with freshman Curtis Jacobs along with sophomore D’Von Ellis. Long way to go in his recruitment as he will look to take trips to his extensive offer list, but he headlines a strong group in the trenches for McDonogh. Update from Dennis-Sutton

Wise defensive end Amar Thomas

Offers: Howard, Buffalo, East Carolina, Indiana, Maryland, Morgan State, Old Dominion

Skinny: Maryland was the first offer for Thomas as he’s familiar with the hometown school. The quick edge-rusher is familiar with the program as he, Sauray and 2021 priority wide receiver target Jalil Farooq visited back in January. Only a pair of Power Five schools in the mix early but plenty more to come for the 6-foot-1, 225-pound defensive end. Update from Thomas

Rock Creek defensive end Anthony Little

Offers: Boston College, Penn State, Pittsburgh

Skinny: Little will play elsewhere his junior season as National Christian Academy coaches and players in both basketball and football announced plans to start a new program at Rock Creek High School. He’ll step into an elite defensive line alongside Alabama defensive end commit Monkell Goodwine and Vanderbilt defensive tackle commit Terion Sugick as the 6-foot-4, 220-pound puts the added strength together on the field. Maryland and Texas A&M are tracking the in-state product as a trio of Power Five schools have jumped in early. Update from Little

St. Frances defensive tackle Nasir Pearce

Offers: Arizona State, Boston College, Buffalo, FIU, Georgia, Houston, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Penn State, Rutgers, Tennessee, Texas A&M

Skinny: the 6-foot-3, 275-pound interior lineman is a key piece to maintaining the prestige that the St. Frances defensive line has established over the years. Has the chance to add 20-30 pounds while maintaining his power inside to get into the backfield.

McDonogh defensive tackle Kwan Williams

Offers: Boston College, Duke, Florida, Howard, Liberty, Maryland, UMass, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Pitt, South Carolina, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Toledo, Virginia, Virginia Tech, West Virginia

Skinny: The Gators were also the first school to offer Kwan as the McDonogh lineman have entrenched themselves as coveted linemen in the 2022 cycle. Maryland and Penn State are a pair of schools that have hosted him early and he has previously mentioned location to be a potential factor for him. Top target for the Terps as Maryland has had a chance to chip away since the staff arrived in College Park.

St. Frances inside linebacker Jaishawn Barham

Offers: Alabama, Arizona State, Baylor, Boston College, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Iowa, Maryland, UMass, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Rutgers, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Toledo, Virginia, Virginia Tech

Skinny: already one of the most heralded defensive prospects in the 2022 class, what helps Maryland early is that Barham has made his way to campus countless times and his relationship with Elijah Brooks will keep the Terps in the thick of it. What does not help is Barham has not ventured to any of his top suitors. An undoubted top target heading into the 2022 cycle, Barham would give Maryland an elite difference-maker just like Demeioun Robinson has done for the 2021 cycle.

Archbishop Spalding outside linebacker Kellan Wyatt

Offers: Buffalo, Liberty, Maryland, UMass, Syracuse

Skinny: Maryland became the first Power Five suitor for Wyatt, who is teammates with 2021 commit Jayon Venerable. He’s been able to check out the local team and he’s built strong relationships with the coaching staff. The extended dead period has complicated his ability to get out for visits but the Terps are in a good spot early on. Update from Wyatt

St. Frances cornerback Cam Johnson

Offers: Arizona State, Boston College, Buffalo, Illinois, Maryland, UMass, Michigan, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Rutgers, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, West Virginia

Skinny: the St. Frances product will be one of the newer faces in the St. Frances starting secondary as Johnson enters his junior year. Frame that has plenty of room to grow, Johnson has great length and ball skills as he’s trained with former Maryland assistant Justin Winters since his days in youth football. Several SEC and Big Ten offers but Boston College could be a team to watch with Jamal Hood already in the fold. UUpdate from Johnson

St. Frances cornerback Tyrin Woodby

Offers: Maryland, UMass, Ole Miss, Virginia Tech

Skinny: Woodby transferred from Franklin to St. Frances this week as the Terps were the first school to pull the trigger before three more followed. Athletic prospect that adds to the athleticism in the Panthers’ secondary but the Terps have connections to Woodby. The cousin of former Terps Leven and Taivon Jacobs, Woodby is another who could keep the Terps under consideration as his suitors grow. Update from Woodby

Rock Creek cornerback BJ Blake

Offers: Boston College, Kentucky, Maryland, Morgan State, Pitt

Skinny: transferred from DeMatha to National Christian Academy this offseason before this month’s announcement of the new Rock Creek program. Physical cornerback who does well in man coverage outside, Maryland could certainly entrench themselves as a prime contender early in his recruitment as the Terps eye a loaded crop of talent in the Rock Creek ’22 class. Update from Blake

Quince Orchard cornerback Bryce Barnes

Offers: East Carolina, Michigan

Skinny: the younger brother of Notre Dame verbal Ryan Barnes, Maryland is tracking Bryce heading into his junior season as East Carolina and Michigan have jumped in early on. The Terps are tracking Bryce as he prepares for an increased role in the secondary to build more film as the high ceiling prospect continues to grow into his 6-foot, 160-pound frame. Update from Barnes

Fort Hill cornerback Breven Stubbs

Offers: UConn, Maryland

Skinny: electric athlete who is more than familiar with the local school, the Terps could benefit from being the first school to offer. The last speedster that Maryland added out of the Western Maryland standout ended up doing damage for the Terps before heading to the NFL and that is not lost on Stubbs.

Quince Orchard safety Steven Sannieniola

Offers: Boston College, Maryland, Pitt

Skinny: the former Bullis defensive back transferred to Quince Orchard over the offseason as the Cougar defense is loaded with Demeioun Robinson, Marcus Bradley, Ryan Barnes and Boston College commit Nigel Tate leading the way as seniors. Sannieniola told All Terrapins recently he’s familiar with the Terps while Boston College is a familiar name with Aazaar leading his recruitment, but the physical safety could shine in a talented secondary. Update from Sannieniola

St. Vincent Pallotti safety Marquise Allsup

Offers: Buffalo, Syracuse

Skinny: Maryland is tracking the in-state safety as Pallotti has produced countless Division I prospects over the years. From Chase Young, ahead of his transfer to DeMatha, to Cam Sullivan-Brown to Blake Corum to the Patterson brothers, Allsup could be the next Division I prospect to come out of Pallotti in the 2022 cycle. 6-foot-1, 190-pound athlete with a 400-plus squat, Allsup has the work ethic to match the talent.
