Notre Dame Recruiting Roundup - June 18th

In this story:
June has been an incredibly busy month regarding recruiting. From official visitors to commitments, the Irish Invasion and new offers, the Notre Dame staff has been busy.
Let’s recap this past week in recruiting. It had a little bit of everything, including a a massive add in the 2025 recruiting class for the Irish.
MASSIVE ADDITION TO THE 2025 CLASS
On Saturday, the week ended with a huge addition to the Notre Dame 2025 recruiting class. The program received a commitment from Washington (Okla.) High School tight end Nate Roberts, who is arguably the top tight end in the 2025 class.
In preparation for the commitment, Washington assistant coach Ethan Feuerborn was nice enough to breakdown the talented tight end and what makes him special. Roberts brings a very unique background with a lot of upside to bring to the table.
RECAPPING RECENT VISITS
The month of June has been littered with campus visits, including key targets in both the 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes. One of the biggest visitors this month so far was 2024 Nebraska star tight end Carter Nelson. Notre Dame received rave reviews from the Nelson family for their efforts.
Last weekend, Notre Dame also welcomed the majority of defensive commits in the 2024 class to campus. Both linebacker Bodie Kahoun and Karson Hobbs recalled that weekend. The two were keys to why the weekend was such a massive success.
Earlier this month, the Irish staff also welcomed several 2025 recruits to campus. That includes Highland Home (Al.) High School pass rusher CJ May. Despite being an Alabama native right in the middle of SEC country, Notre Dame gave May his best visit he’s taken to date.
Another talented pass rusher who just made a return visit to South Bend is 2025 Pittsboro (N.C.) Northwood standout Gus Ritchey, who competed during the Irish Invasion. His experience was fantastic, given the chance to work with the Irish coaches at the event.
Star Chicago (Ill.) Simeon defensive end Christopher Burgess also competed at the Irish Invasion. The staff has made him an absolute priority in this class. Burgess’ relationships with the coaches continued to get strengthen during that visit.
A player who does not currently hold an offer from Notre Dame, 2025 Mission Hills (Calif.) Bishop Alemany Maki Stewart seemed to thoroughly enjoy his first trip to South Bend. The talented offensive lineman gave some insight into the visit.
Notre Dame also hosted an evaluation camp this past week. Several recruits turned in outstanding performances, leading to a few offers being extended. 2025 offensive tackle Rowan Byrne, 2026 quarterback Noah Grubbs and 2025 cornerback Elbert Hill all commented on their recent offers.
KEY RECRUITING UPDATES
Notre Dame is recruiting a couple of legacy recruits in the 2025 class, including Wisconsin tight end James Flanigan. The talented pass catcher gave some insight into his relationship with the Irish program and his recruitment.
Among the most talented running backs in the 2025 class, Louisiana running back James Simon updated his recruitment. The Irish staff has continued to try and improve their relationship.
There’s a good argument that Notre Dame is the leader currently for 2025 Arizona wide receiver Cooper Perry. They are going to be hard to beat for the dynamic pass catcher.
Speaking of dynamic, 2025 Las Vegas linebacker Landon McComber is one of the more athletic linebackers on the board. Notre Dame has laid some great groundwork early on.
KEY SAFETY MAKING DECISION SOON
On June 24th, 2024 Fort Wayne (Ind.) North Side safety Brauntae Johnson is set to make his college decision. Johnson is a key target for Notre Dame, possessing some incredible upside on the next level as he develops. North Side head coach Ben Johnson Jr. gave Irish fans some insight into just what the talented athlete could bring to the table.
WEEKEND PREVIEW
This weekend serves as the third straight massive recruiting weekend for Notre Dame. With 19 commitments already in the 2024 class for the Irish, some of the visitors this month will be key for the program to finish strong. That includes this weekend.
There are only four 2024 recruits on campus, including wide receiver commit Micah Gilbert. The other three targets taking their official visits are key for Notre Dame to gain some clarity at linebacker and safety this cycle. It’s another huge chance to move the needle for each recruit.
