Potential Movement With Agiye Hall's Verbal Commitment Date

One of the top wide receiver prospects in the class of 2021, Agiye Hall has been eyeing a March verbal commitment. With more visits on the horizon, could it push the Floridian to delay?

One element of Agiye Hall's recruitment is likely to change while the main focus remains the same.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound wide receiver, now at Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy, has long been on the record about a desire to leave the state of Florida for his college football. Florida and Florida State were early options he looked into but for nearly a year the chances of heading beyond the borders have been vocalized.

But as to how soon that next stop may go public, that could be much more of a fluid situation.

Hall, fresh off of a standout effort at the Under Armour All-America Camp in Orlando on Sunday, is set to take some critical visits in the coming weeks and potentially beyond. It makes a once-planned March 14 verbal commitment date appear less likely just nine days out.

Wednesday night, the coveted prospect announced a trip to the University of Texas set for this weekend. UT was among the contenders for Hall last fall but did not make his most recent list of top schools. No Big 12 program made that cut while LSU, Alabama, Georgia and Arizona State did.

The rising senior has yet to see Texas as a prospect. The same is true for a program that did make the cut, LSU.

A trip to see the national champions is also expected this month.

"LSU, first time there," Hall said over the weekend. "A lot of people tell me it's good and it looks nice, so I'm trying to see what it's all about."

Official visits could also become a major part of the pre-commitment equation, SI All-American has learned. Prospects are now able to take any of the five allotted official visits in the springtime and programs have campaigned for the former Seffner (Fla.) Armwood star to get to their campus on their own dime.

Of the top four he released, only Alabama and Georgia have hosted Hall to this point. Arizona State could be one of the schools seriously pushing for an official visit before a final decision is to be made. Like Texas, other programs once highly considered by the Under Armour All-American could come back into the equation should he continue to hit the visit trail hard.

A top seven released in October featured the current top four along with Clemson, Texas and Oklahoma.

Hall, who has put together about 1,500 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns over the last two prep seasons, could also visit Texas A&M and Houston in the coming days while in the Lone Star State for a 7-on-7 tournament.
