Marcus Dumervil Chooses LSU

Nations Top Offensive Tackle Commits To The Bayou Bengals

Marcus Dumervil of St. Thomas Aquinas High School (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) is set to headline the future LSU offensive line in a decision that surprised few. This 6-foot-5, 300-pound mountain mover is one of the most athletic offensive tackles in the class of 2020, reeling in big-time interest from Florida, Ohio State, and Alabama.

This signing could reflect a shift in LSU's recruiting strategy, away from power and toward speed. John Garcia Jr., Director of SI All-American, breaks down Dumervil's commitment, and what it means for the future of the record-breaking LSU spread offense.

You might remember Dumervil's performance at "The Opening", the national recruiting showcase, where many of his peers and adversaries cited him as the top offensive lineman during the 1v1 pass pro reps.

Dumervil blocks as if his own mother is standing in the pocket.

With a Florida state high-school title already under his belt, Dumervil will try adding another ring to his growing collection. He will travel with St. Thomas Aquinas to Las Vegas for a Dec. 20th showdown in the GEICO State Championships Bowl Series against Hawaiian powerhouse St. Louis High School (Honolulu).
