India tightens screws as South Africa reaches 151-6 at tea

NAGPUR, India (AP) Offspinner Ravichandran Ashwin finished with a 12-wicket match haul as India defeated South Africa by 124 runs in the third test to win the four-game series on Friday.

Ashwin took 7-66 in the second innings and 12-98 in the match, as South Africa was bowled out for 185 on day three after being set a 310-run target by the home side

It was the fourth 10-for by Ashwin in 31 tests.

Legspinner Amit Mishra supported Ashwin, and picked up two important wickets to finish with 3-51 in the second innings.

For South Africa, captain Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis scored 39 apiece, and shared a 72-run fifth-wicket partnership but could not take the game to the fourth day.
