Pro Football Hall of Fame: The evolution of the NFL helmet

On August 2, the 2014 Pro Football Hall of Fame class will be formally enshrined during a ceremony in Canton, Ohio. This year's class includes seven football legends—Derrick Brooks, Ray Guy, Claude Humphrey, Walter Jones, Andre Reed, Michael Strahan and Aeneas Williams—each of whom have played in different eras and have seen the game change tremendously since stepping foot on the field.

SI Edge went back in time at the Pro Football Hall of Fame to see how the helmet has evolved, from the 1920s to the present day game, with the help of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Executive Vice President of Museums, Selection Process & Chief Communications Officer, Joe Horrigan.
