California's CIF State Open Division basketball champions have added a high-level piece to its roster ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Houston Rolle, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard, has completed a transfer from Heritage Christian to Sierra Canyon. Rolle averaged 20.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore for the Warriors last year.

The standout junior-to-be is listed as a 4-star prospect on 247Sports.com and sits inside the Top 50 prospects for the 2028 class nationally. He's ranked the sixth-best prospect in California.

He currently holds offers to USC, Florida State, Missouri, Washington and Creighton, among others.

WHAT ROLLE BRINGS TO SIERRA CANYON

The Trailblazers saw two McDonald's All-Americans graduate from last year's state championship team in Brandon McCoy Jr. (Michigan) and Maxi Adams (North Carolina), but the program is expected to compete for another Open Division crown again in 2027.

Rolle will join forces with a trio of talented juniors like himself in point guard JJ Sati-Grier, Josh Lowery, and highly-touted wing Jordan Mize. All three are among the classes Top 50 prospects nationally. Mize is ranked No. 16.

Sierra Canyon would boast four of the junior classes top 50 players, setting up a two-year run with the quartet of talent leading the way. According to 247Sports' California 2028 rankings, Mize, Lowery, Sati-Grier and Rolle are ranked No. 3, 4, 5 and 6.

MISSION LEAGUE WILL BE BOX OFFICE

Southern California boasts the Trinity League every football season, most notably known as the most competitive high school football league in the country with powers St. John Bosco, Mater Dei, Santa Margarita, Orange Lutheran, JSerra and Servite.

Well, the Mission League is arguable high school basketball's most competitive and talented league in America. Sierra Canyon, Harvard-Westlake, Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks, Crespi, St. Francis, Chaminade, Loyola and Alemany are among the best programs in the CIF Southern Section and in the state.

Notre Dame is led by 5-star guard NaVorro Bowman Jr. and Josiah Nance. Crespi is anchored by a trio of guards in Isaiah Barnes, Carter Barnes and Jasiah Williams. Harvard-Westlake returns savvy veterans Pierce Thompson and Cole Holden.

St. Francis might be the No. 1-ranked team in the state to start the 2026-27 season if the roster on paper is available in November with 7-foot-3 Cherif Millogo (2027) and 7-foot- Yann Kamagate (2028).

Kamagate is the No. 1 ranked player in the 2028 class.
