Top 25 CIF Southern Section Football Scoreboard, Notable Stats From Week 0

The CIF Southern Section high school football season has officially kicked off.
Below is the look at how the High School On SI Top 25 teams fared in the opening week of competition.
THURSDAY, AUG. 20
Corona Centennial 41, Servite 21: Jaden Jefferson threw for 296 yards and two touchdowns while adding 92 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Quentin Hale caught eight passes for 155 yards and two scores.

Rancho Cucamonga 28, Murrieta Valley 14: QB Trey Towns Jr. completed 16 of 23 passing for 159 yards and a touchdown in the comeback victory. The Cougars trailed 14-0 in the second quarter.
FRIDAY, AUG. 21
Bishop Gorman 38, St. John Bosco 28: The Braves were trailing 21-0 at halftime before rallying to tie the game at 28. But Gorman pulled away at the end. Here's a live updates recap of the thriller.
Santa Margarita 27, Jones (FL) 0: The Eagles start the 2026 campaign with Fletch Palmer at quarterback, the son of Carson Palmer. He threw two touchdowns.
Sierra Canyon 42, JSerra 21: The Trailblazers scored in different ways — passing, running, defense and special teams. Myles Baker ran for a touchdowns and returned a kick-off for a score. Jaxsen Stoke ran for a score. Demarco Hernandez threw a TD. Defensive lineman Stephan Harrison had a pick-six.
Miami Central (FL) 23, Orange Lutheran 22: The Lancers fall just short in new coach Ray Fenton's debut.
Mission Viejo 55, Chaparral 17: Sophomore QB Brett Burnor gets his debut victory, throwing for 228 yards and four touchdowns. Chaparral was without Cal commit QB Dane Weber due to injury.
Mater Dei 31, American Fork 11: Sophomore running back Asir Nembhard ran for 115 yards and two scores.
Oxnard Pacifica 52, Del Sol 6: Taylor Lee threw four touchdowns on six attempts as the Tritons cruise in their season opener over new program Del Sol.
San Clemente 17, Tustin 0: Jaxson Rex did it all, had a pick-six, ran for a touchdown and anchored the defense to a shutout.
Palos Verdes 17, Gardena Serra 14: Niko Dragin nailed a game-winning 22-yard FG with three minutes left in the game.
Corona del Mar 48, Lakewood 3: CdM got rolling early. Quarterback Luca DiNapoli completed his first six passes for three touchdowns.
Crean Lutheran 31, Loyola 6: The Saints scored on their first five possessions and cruised to win number one. Ty Johnson finished with 11 receptions for 143 yards and a touchdown.
Damien 36, Aquinas 17: Anthony Randolph threw for three TDs and ran for another. He tossed for 256 yards.
Chaminade 18, Oaks Christian 0: The Eagles put on a defensive display, spoiling new Oaks Christian coach Rudy Carlton's debut.
Westlake 32, Newbury Park 26 (3OT): A local thriller in Ventura County.
Valencia 48, Simi Valley 28: Larry Muir starts 2026 with a big win over fellow longtime coach Jim Benkert.
Oak Hills 28, Highland 6: Dahlin Hill scored two rushing touchdowns, Maurice Council added another, and Rudy De La Fuente returned an interception for a touchdown.
