The First Academy finally showing some life on offense down West Boca's 42.

West Boca Raton 14, The First Academy 0

West Boca punches it in from short distance, and the Bulls are up 14-0.

Moran with another QB draw right up the middle of the Royals' defense. He takes from his own 35 all the way to the Royals' 5. A 60-yard run for the Bulls.

FIRST QUARTER — West Boca Raton 7, The First Academy 0

And that's the first quarter in the books.

West Boca Raton 7, The First Academy 0

The First Academy is forced to punt on the ensuing possession on fourth and 15. Bulls back in business at their own 39.

Anderson Gracilien from Trey Moran on the touchdown play.

West Boca with a rollout to the right with a pass-run option for the quarterback. A running back in the flat is open at the goal line, and he chooses to pass, and the Bulls are on the board first.

Royals defense forces a fourth and goal from the 2.

Another QB draw up the middle, and the Bulls have a first and goal from the 5.

Quarterback draw up the middle down to just inside the 10. Third and short.

Good coverage, but West Boca's quarterback scrambles and finds a lane through the middle of the defense before cutting to the right sideline. He makes it all the way to the 17.

Timeout on a third and 14 for the Bulls on the Royals' 46.

West Boca with another first down at The First Academy's 42.

On third down, the Bulls convert with a play out to their own 40.

West Boca's first possession will also start right around the 20.

Make it three incompletions, and the Royals are forced to punt.

Two incompletions and suddenly it's third and 10.

On a third and 1 at their own 29, the Royals are stymied by that tough Bulls' defense. They go for the fourth down and convert. Royals showing some guts early and maybe signaling how important they think possessions will be against these stingy Bull defenders.

They are under way! The First Academy will be on offense first.

They are wrapping up the coin toss, and heading to their respective ends.

We're just a few minutes from the start of this game in Orlando between these two fine high school football programs. Should be a good one tonight!

AccuWeather is showing it's currently partly sunny and 83 degrees in Orlando. A chance of evening thunderstorms in spots, but that's your usual forecast for Florida this time of year.

The Bulls have been particularly impressive defensively, allowing just 5.1 points per game, and their ability to limit scoring opportunities will be crucial against a Royals offense averaging 35.9 points per contest. West Boca Raton is fully capable of lighting up the scoreboard with 34.7 points per game, and it all could come down a First Academy defense that has been a bit more generous, yielding 16.6 points per game, although that total is inflated a little bit by the 48 points IMG Academy scored three weeks ago.

The First Academy will also have the benefit of playing at home, however, where the Royals will look to build on victories over Cocoa and Archbishop McCarthy. The Royals defeated Cocoa 49-3 on Oct. 2 before earning a 31-24 win over Archbishop McCarthy on Oct. 9, following a 48-27 loss to that highly-ranked IMG squad on Sept. 18.

With both teams considered be among the state's top 12-15 programs depending on the list, Friday's meeting offers both programs an opportunity to strengthen their postseason credentials while also bolstering their position in those various ranking lists. The team that controls the tempo, protects the football and delivers in critical situations could gain a valuable victory against quality competition in a game that will be closely watched in Florida and, indeed, well beyond the state's borders.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET Friday at The First Academy Payne Stewart Athletic Complex in Orlando where the host Royals are 3-1 in 2026 after losing all five of their home contests a year ago.
