Logan Abrams, FB, Cary-Grove

Abrams handled the scoring effort for Cary-Grove in its 28-10 6A semifinal victory over Lake Zurich. The sophomore rushed for 166 yards and all four of the Trojans touchdowns to help them advance to the 6A state championship game.

Aaron Ball, RB, St. Laurence

An all-state selection, Ball was a key factor in St.Laurence’s 31-30 victory over Wheaton Academy to secure its first state championship appearance since 1979. The senior rushed for 160 yards and four touchdowns on 30 carries.

Noah Battle, RB, Downers Grove North

Battle led an impressive Downers Grove North effort in its 42-0 victory over previously-unbeaten Normal Community. The senior rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown and returned the opening kickoff of the second half 87 yards for a TD.

Robert Battle, QB, East St. Louis

A senior, Battle led the Flyers to a 34-18 victory over Washington to advance to the 6A state championship. Battle threw for 75 yards and three touchdowns and added 76 yards and a score on the ground.

Caden Considine, RB/LB, Byron

An all-state selection, Considine came through on both sides of the ball in Byron’s 26-20 semifinal victory over Montini. The sophomore intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter and rushed for 244 yards and the game-winning touchdown with 3:29 left to play.

Darrion Dupree, RB, Mount Carmel

The Wisconsin-bound senior led the charge for the Caravan during a 64-26 7A semifinal victory over Batavia. Dupree rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns and added two touchdown receptions.

Ryan Fitzgerald, QB, Loyola Academy

Fitzgerald led the way for the Ramblers in a hard fought 23-14 victory over York. The junior threw for 182 yards and a touchdown and added 67 yards and two touchdowns on the ground to help send the defending 8A champions back to the big game.

Elijah Genenbacher, RB/LB, Camp Point Central

Genenbacher had an incredible all-around performance in Camp Point Central’s 54-20 victory over Greenfield/Northwestern. The junior rushed 19 times for 175 yards and a career-high five touchdowns – all in the first half. He also snagged an interception on defense.

Leon Howard, LB, East St. Louis

A sophomore linebacker, Howard led the Flyers' defense in their 34-18 victory at Washington with 11 tackles and a sack. 

Brayden Knoll, RB, Byron

Knoll provided Tigers' offense with a spark during its 26-20 victory over Montini to secure a spot in the 3A championship. The junior running back rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns.

Logan Malachuk, QB, Nazareth Academy

Malachuk showed off his running ability in Nazareth’s 38-31 victory over St. Francis to return to the 5A state championship for the second year in a row. The junior had two rushing touchdowns while guiding the Roadrunners' offense.

Alex Marre, RB, Montini Catholic

Marre did all he could in Montini’s 26-20 semifinal loss to Byron. The senior all-stater had a gritty performance and rushed 25 times for 144 yards and two touchdowns.

Alessio Milivojevic, QB, St. Francis

Milivojevic had another highlight-worthy performance in a 38-31 semifinal loss to Nazareth Academy. The senior committed to Ball State threw for 313 yards and four touchdowns.

Braden Tischer, QB, Lincoln-Way East

Tischer had an outstanding performance to help lead Lincoln-Way East to a 49-6 victory over Barrington to secure a spot in the 8A state championship. The senior threw two touchdown passes and ran for another two scores.

Bryan Zulauf, QB, Rochester

Zulauf had a great performance under center in the Rockets' dominant 42-14 victory over Murphysboro to advance to the 4A state title game. The junior gunslinger completed nine of his 14 passes for 181 yards and three touchdowns.
