Record-setting performances, seven-touchdown passing games and explosive plays highlight the nominees for Indiana High School Football Player of the Week after Week 1 of the 2026 season.

Indiana high school football's opening week delivered no shortage of standout performances, with several players putting up eye-popping numbers and leading their teams to impressive victories.

From quarterbacks lighting up the scoreboard to running backs piling up yards and receivers finding the end zone, this week's Player of the Week nominees were prolific.

Several candidates set individual or team records, while others starred for teams ranked in the High School on SI Indiana Preseason High School Football State Rankings — including a dynamic quarterback-receiver duo from Carroll (Fort Wayne).

High School On SI

Conner Battle, QB, Speedway

Battle went 12-for-19 for 352 yards, with seven of those completions resulting in touchdowns. It was enough for Speedway to roll past Heritage Christian 47-19.

Keivontre Copeland, WR, Northridge

Copeland caught three passes for 171 yards, an average of 57 yards per catch, with all three receptions resulting in touchdowns. It was enough to power Northridge to a 62-32 win over West Noble, as Copeland’s Raiders set a school record for points scored in a game.

Carter Cosgrove, WR, Brebeuf Jesuit

Cosgrove was a beast in Brebeuf Jesuit’s 42-37 loss to North Central, hauling in nine receptions for 149 yards and three touchdowns.

Gabe Frisinger, QB, Carroll (Fort Wayne)

Frisinger couldn’t be stopped in Carroll’s 54-23 win over Hamilton Southeastern. The senior gunslinger completed 25 of 34 passes for 380 yards and seven touchdowns in the rout.

Brady Lewis, RB, Brownsburg

Lewis was a workhorse for top-ranked Brownsburg, leading the Bulldogs to a 48-25 win over Lawrence North while piling up 223 yards on 35 carries with three touchdowns.

Colin Patton, RB, Wabash

Patton opened his senior season in top form, rushing 20 times for 154 yards and rushing for five touchdowns. He added a sixth touchdown on one of his two receptions for 47 yards as the Apaches walloped Christel House, 66-24.

Harrison Scheele, WR Carroll (Fort Wayne)

Scheele was a big contributor to Frisinger’s success, finishing on the receiving end of 15 of his quarterback’s 25 completions. The senior receiver turned those catches into 231 yards and five touchdowns in Carroll’s big win.

Jake Scholl, QB, Northridge

Scholl was a dynamic dual threat in Northridge's win over West Noble, passing for 306 yards and rushing for 169 to lead Indiana with 475 total yards in Week 1. He accounted for eight touchdowns — five passing and three rushing.

Ryan Sinks, WR, Harrison

Sinks caught three passes for 186 yards, an average of 62 yards per catch, and two touchdowns, including a 77-yarder that put Harrison in the lead for good in the Raiders’ thrilling 43-40 win over West Lafayette.

Landon Snyder, RB, Mishawaka

Snyder piled up 297 yards rushing on just 16 carries with three touchdowns in Mishawaka’s 40-14 win over Marian.

Luke Stevenson, RB, Noblesville

Stevenson carried the ball just nine times for Noblesville in his varsity debut, piling up 142 yards in his limited opportunities. Five of his nine carries resulted in touchdowns as the Millers rolled past Arsenal Tech 64-0.

Nolan Tarrh, WR, Maconaquah

Tarrh set school records for receptions (13) and receiving yards (307) in Maconaquah’s 42-27 win over Sheridan. He also scored a touchdown for the Braves.
