The No. 1-seed Minnetonka Skippers (25-2-1) play the Maple Grove Crimson (20-7-1) in the 2024 Class 2A MSHSL girls hockey quarterfinals at Xcel Energy Center.

FINAL: Minnetonka 2, Maple Grove 1

The Skippers survived the upset bid from the Crimson. 

Maple Grove took a 1-0 lead in the first period, but Minnetonka scored twice in the second period with goals from Allison Ryan and Lindzi Avar. 

Maple Grove goaltender had 33 saves. 

Minnetonka will play the winner of No. 4 Edina vs. No. 5 Northfield on Friday at 8 p.m.

THIRD PERIOD UPDATES

Maple Grove pulls its goalie, but Grace Erickson gets called for tripping with 40 seconds remaining.
