The No. 2-seed Orono Spartans (20-5-2) defeated the No. 7 Fergus Falls Otters (15-12-1) 9-0 in the 2025 Minnesota high school girls hockey state tournament Class 1A quarterfinals at the Xcel Energy Center.

The Spartans jumped to a 3-0 lead after the first period with one goal from Macy Rasmussen and two goals from Maddy Kimbrel. Kimbrel added her third goal of the day in the second period as Orono pulled way.

The Spartans will play the winner of No. 3 Warroad (24-3-1) vs. No. 6 Marshall (22-3-2) on Friday at 11 a.m. at Xcel Energy Center.

Fergus Falls moves to the consolation bracket where it will play the loser of the Warroad/Marshall game.
