Kearney's Casey Rooney voted SBLive’s Missouri High School Athlete of the Week (12/4/2023)

Rooney received more than 39 percent of the votes cast

Congratulations to Kearney football player Casey Rooney, who was voted the SBLive Missouri High School Athlete of the Week for Nov. 20-26.

He received 17,884 votes, which were more than 39 percent of the total votes cast for the week.

Rooney, a senior quarterback, ran for a score and threw two touchdowns to Manny Linthacum in a 42-7 win over Jefferson City in the Class 4 semifinals.

Hillsboro football player Preston Brown finished second in the voting after receiving 15,177 votes – more than 33 percent of the total votes cast.
