The Astros might get center fielder Dexter Fowler back right after the All-Star break when Houston travels to Chicago for a series that kicks off Friday night vs. the White Sox, Brian McTaggert of MLB.com reported Saturday.

Fowler, 28, was eligible on Saturday to be activated from the disabled list after missing 14 games with a right intercoastal strain. He was placed on the DL in early July and the move was retroactive to June 27. At the time, he was hitting .270 with six home runs and 24 RBI.

The Astros, currently fourth in the AL West, have three full days off for the All-Star break before they workout on Thursday at U.S. Cellular Field to prepare for their series against the White Sox.
