Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano was back in the lineup for Saturday's game in Detroit after being removed from the series opener on Friday because a foul ball had bruised his foot, the Mariners tweeted.

Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano was back in the lineup for Saturday's game in Detroit after being removed from the series opener on Friday because a foul ball had bruised his foot, the Mariners tweeted. 

The injury happened early  in the game and Cano was eventually removed as a precaution in the eighth inning of Friday's 7-2 victory by Seattle. 

The six-time All-Star is batting .330 as the Mariners remain in third place in the AL West.
