The Yankees on activated seven-time All-Star Brian McCann from the seven-day concussion disabled list on Sunday, the team announced prior to their series finale in Tampa against the Rays.

McCann suffered the concussion after taking a foul tip off his mask two weeks ago. The 30-year-old catcher was eligible to come off the DL on Saturday, but New York opted to give him an extra day of rest. He is hitting .238 with 13 home runs and 49 RBI in the first year of a five-year, $85 million contract. The Yankees, currently third in the AL East, begin a three-game homestand on Tuesday vs. the Astros
