Tuesday August 19th, 2014

The Cleveland Indians have placed utility man Ryan Raburn on the 15-day disabled list with soreness in his right wrist, the team announced on Tuesday.

Raburn is batting .191 with three home runs and 21 RBI in 70 games this season. The 33-year-old hit .272 with 16 home runs and 55 RBI last season.

More: 'O'? No, but Mariners' pitching staff has been historically good

The Indians signed Raburn to a two-year, $4.85 million contract extension last summer.

Cleveland opened Tuesday at 62-61 and in third place in the American League Central, 4 1/2 games back in the AL Wild Card race.
