San Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt is cleared to resume baseball activities, Giants manager Bruce Bochy said.

Belt has not played since Aug. 7 after having a recurrence of concussion-like symptoms after being originally hit in the face by a ball during batting practice on July 19.

Bochy said that Belt will rejoin the team in San Francisco on Friday and that his activities will be "ramped up."

The team is hoping that Belt is available to play in the next 7-to-10 days.  Belt is hitting .237 with 11 home runs and 24 RBIs in 51 games this season for San Francisco, which is two games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West.
